It's true, I'm missing in action. I may in fact be floating in the lake right now, drinking a beer. Or perhaps playing in the water with Little Danger. Or even fishing. There's just no telling...but hopefully, I'm having fun. If you miss me like I bet I'm missing you, here's a few things you can read to laugh at my words.

Friday Freakout
It's been a good week. I may be broke, but I'm rich where it counts. Today I'm just doing a bit of housekeeping, but I have big news to share. I'll just get this out right out of the gate...
I joined the gang at Sprocket Ink!!!
Sprocket Ink is a humor meets news "webazine". Whereas the Onion presents satirical news, the awesome gang at Sprocket is like a virtual water cooler...we take the "Did you see this SHIT?" angle of snark and current events.
To that end, I think I'm going to start a new Friday feature here. Sharing links to blogs I like, and of course letting you know what I did when I wasn't here. It'll be small. That gives me a regular Monday and Friday thing, and I can do meaty humor during the week. Weekends are still for not looking at a computer and getting some outdoor air. :)
I intend to keep doing everything I do here...no dialing it in with mini-posts or slacking off for me.

BlogCentennial
Well, this is a milestone that surprised me with its arrival. Today is the 100th blog post. I've clicked publish 100 times, and had something to say in at least 5 of those postings. :)
That's a big number.
I'm happy with a lot of the things that have happened here. It thrills me that you come to read these things, to laugh and think with me. I'm so glad to have found some awesome people to read...there are some great writers out there, some wonderful voices amongst the cacophony of the 'net that I love to listen to.
I'm also thrilled that I've kept at this...I have a long history of flash-in-the-pan projects that never reach fruition. I've relaxed into this, and I feel that I'll be around for a while. Hopefully I'll keep bringing the funny.
I'm proud of some of the encouragement I've received, there are some very good writers who've complimented me, and it is only natural to glow when a hero compliments you. I will try like hell to pay that forward.
Now it's time to look forward to the next 100. I am going to start holding forth a bit more. I intend to find a way to get a better layout. In the coming days, I will be putting up a new page that you can visit to see some of my favorite blogs...the sidebar over there would get way too full way too quick if I put them over there.
Celebrate with me, won't you? Have a sip of scotch, a tipple of tequila, a slug of soda, a measure of milk if you prefer. And let's toast together to our next 100. For me, that'll be 100 more posts. What will it be for you? Posts? Days without a cigarette? Consecutive times your significant other doesn't have to do laundry/open their car door/watch bad reality TV? Days that you look in the mirror and say "I like you!"?
Make a goal with me, 100 of something. The only "rule" is it has to be something significant. DO IT. And let's celebrate the centennial when you get there!

Forgetful me!
I forgot to tell you...I got an awesome award! The wonderful JumbleMash gave this to me! The rules (there are always rules) are that I have to do a happy dance. Suffice to say I have shaken my groove thing!
I've been making some tweaks around here, and I want to thank all of you who follow and comment and read and just drop by. I've hit that point where I'm ready to grow, but I'm going to try not to be annoying about it. Just do me a favor, next time you see something on here that makes you laugh...share it with somebody, OK? There's a nifty share button over there on the right that makes it easy. :) Otherwise I have to send out the emu death squad, and nobody wants that. Least of all the emus.

A New Project
Well, gang, I started a second blog. I figured I'd separate this one, since it's both fiction and heavily geeky, featuring fantasy, science fiction, and also superheroes. Not all at the same time, though.
